SWFL Community Conversations on Coastal Heritage at Risk

  • Edison and Ford Winter Estates 2350 McGregor Boulevard Fort Myers, FL, 33901 United States (map)

Join us for an enlightening workshop as part of the Calusa Coast 2024 series of events, focusing on Coastal Heritage and Climate Change in Southwest Florida! The Florida Public Archaeology Network, in collaboration with Mound House and the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation, warmly invites Fort Myers residents, local community members in SWFL, and anyone interested in exploring the impacts of climate change on our heritage.

During this engaging workshop, we will delve into the profound effects of climate change on our coastal heritage. Our day will begin with an immersive coastal walk, offering firsthand insights into the repercussions of Hurricane Ian on our region and the ongoing recovery efforts at the Edison & Ford Winter Estates.

Don’t miss this valuable opportunity to understand how climate change is shaping our coastal heritage and its consequences for our communities. While the event is free, we kindly request an RSVP to secure your spot. Join us on Friday, March 29th, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, and actively participate in this crucial conversation! If you’re unable to attend the workshop, you can still be part of the discussion during our History Happy Hour at Remedies Parlor from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
